Engineering Services Division (ESD) is the bureau’s lead division for the planning, design, and construction services of public rights-of-way and other various public infrastructures. This includes implementing bureau-wide advanced planning effort; reviewing major transit projects developed by Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) Twenty-Eight by ‘28 and other miscellaneous transit-related projects; reviewing major transit projects developed Los Angeles World Airport - Landside Access Modernization Program (LAWA-LAMP); supporting Mayor and council offices’ special request projects; Surface Transportation Program Local (STPL) Access Ramps; delivering the federal, state, and local grant funded capital improvement projects; managing the Transit Furniture Programs; reviewing landscape permits and developing landscape policies; and constructing sidewalks, access ramps, bioswales, bus pads, bus landings, curbs and gutters, and various streetscape. These services are essential in planning and delivering the StreetsLA overarching objectives in implementing safe, accessible, and sustainable streets.
